Words about verses: The Psalms

I enjoy listening to movie soundtracks, especially ones done by Hans Zimmer. I recently thought about how different a movie such as the Hobbit would be without music. How much depth, emotion, expressiveness, and grandeur would we lose because it’s bound up in the music?

The soundtracks to the Bible story are the Psalms. 150 songs that capture the depth, emotion, and grandeur of what God has been doing, is doing and will do through Jesus Christ. Sadly, so many Christians read the story of God but mute the movie because they neglect the Psalms. The Psalms are to the biblical history what the soundtrack is to a blockbuster. When we read, sing and listen to the Psalms, we add depth, meaning, emotion and richness to His story in the world and in our own lives.

Let us sing to the Lord a new song.
